Setting out & Surveying at Heathrow Terminal 5

We are currently engaged by a Dutch steelwork contractor to set out holding down anchor bolts in both Terminals 5A and 5B. We have been making regular trips to site since September 2004. Our remit is to ensure that all the anchor bolt positions are marked out around two weeks in advance of the steel erection team. The erectors can then advance at an efficient pace, without any hold ups caused by out of place anchor bolts. To date we have successfully set out over 10’000 anchor bolt positions to a tolerance of +/- 2mm. We are also undertaking as built surveys of specific sections of completed steelwork to ensure that it has been erected to the required tolerances.

We have also been carrying out precise as built surveys on behalf of an international baggage system specialist. Our work involved carrying out as built surveys of the building superstructure and comparing it to the design drawings. Any discrepancies can then be highlighted to the design team. Any design changes can be made prior to the manufacture / installation of the baggage system. With over 18km of conveyors and the associated machinery to install to tolerances of +/- 2.5mm in certain locations, unnecessary complications are unwelcome!

Setting out of Roads & Sewers

Throughout the course of the last two years we have been employed by an established Cheshire based civil engineering contractor. Working throughout Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire and Cheshire we have set out over 10 kilometres of roads and sewers on a number residential developments.

Setting out of Piles

We have travelled throughout England and Wales on behalf of a leading piling contractor setting out a huge number of piles on both commercial and residential projects. Our ability to resolve problems on site in an efficient and accurate manner has ensured that they regularly engage us.

Land and Building Surveys

Since our formation in January 2003 we have carried out a large number of topographical and building surveys for a number of clients. We aim to ensure that our clients return to us time and again by providing an accurate and efficient service.

Volumetric Calculations / Earthwork Modelling

We have been working closely with a local heavy civils contractor providing setting out and surveying services on a number of contracts over the last three years. We have also carried out volumetric surveys and calculations at both the tender and the valuation stages of all of their earthwork contracts. On a number of their contracts we have either designed the entire earthwork model or redesigned the existing model to provide a balanced cut/fill solution. The projects have ranged from simple cut/fill projects for industrial estates / units to large complex remediation projects.

We have also been engaged by a number of other clients, both consultants and contractors, to carry out volumetric calculations and earthwork design / modelling for a number of sites.
